Arugula

In Season: May to November

Arugula is a leafy green that has a wonderful peppery flavour. It’s great in salads, on sandwiches, mixed in with pasta or as pesto. It is sometimes called as rocket. Good flavour pairings for arugula include; garlic, Parmesan cheese, lemon, toasted nuts, olive oil, tomatoes and many different fruits.

Store unwashed or completely dry arugula in a plastic bag in the fridge for 4-6 days.

Nutritional Information: 

Arugula is low in Saturated Fat, and very low in Cholesterol. It is also a good source of Protein, Thiamin, Riboflavin, Vitamin B6, Pantothenic Acid, Zinc and Copper, and a very good source of Dietary Fiber, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin K, Folate, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Potassium and Manganese.
