Hi thre, I am Chris Ackerman from Baycrest Farms.  I am at Market almost all year committed to offering the best quality product available, whether its maple syrup, greenhouse plants, fresh cut flowers, strawberries, field tomatoes, local sweet corn or apples and pears in the fall. My parents, Larry and Lynn Ackerman, operated a stall at the Kingston Public market for over 20 years. My sisters Natalie, Jennifer and I accompanied them during our school years. My parents retired from the market business in 1994 to start Live, Love and Laugh - a successful retail florist and gift shop in Belleville. My youngest sister, Jennifer, carried on the market business for a short time until I  committed full time to being a marker vendor. Making fresh sweet apple cider from a variety of apples with no additives or preservatives has been one of our very proudest accomplishments since the days of college when we were pressing with a 5 bushel capacity press. Now I am pressing with a huge stainless steel press in a state of the art operation. The cider can be frozen, drank cold or heated with the addition of spices. As a bonus to the skating experience the skaters in the Market Square appreciate this product heated to warm them up.
