Okee's Garden is located on Wolfe Island where Jan and Alex produce a wide variety of organically grown vegetables. As this will only be their second growing season on the Island, they have yet to determine their specialty. Last year they were very successful with various lettuces, greens, beets and carrots. This year they will be expanding their selection to include multiple varieties of heirloom tomatoes, rainbow carrots, summer squash and much more. They use organic growing methods and have started the certification process. Jan has been farming his whole life, mostly working on dairy farms, and this will be Alex's third year growing. They love the challenges and the ongoing learning and experimentation involved in growing food. They're looking forward to working with other growers, distributors and the community at large to create a viable, long term local food system. Aside from the Kingston Public Market, they also sell on Friday afternoons between 2pm and 5pm on Wolfe Island next to the Wolfe Island Bakery. This will be their second year vending at the Kingston Public Market.
